STUDIO 2 FOWLERS YARD

Back Silver Street, Durham DH1 3RA  -  DIRECTIONS

NORMAL OPENING HOURS : Tuesday - Saturday, 10am - 4pm or by appointment.

The studio will be closed for 3 days from Thursday May 2nd until Saturday May 5th, and will open again at lunchtime on Tuesday May 7th.

Please be aware that I sometimes need to close the studio at short notice due to commitments elsewhere, so if you are planning a specific visit, please make an appointment with me beforehand to avoid disappointment.
Fowlers Yard is a unique development of 9 creative work spaces for professional artists, craftspeople and creative businesses. Transformed from their original purpose as stables, they now lie at the heart of the growing cultural quarter within the city, tucked away behind Durham's Indoor Market on the banks of the River Wear.
Fully equipped studio

My studio has all the professional quality equipment that I need to create my copper etching plates, including a vertical etching tank and a large aquatint cabinet, and a large Modbury Engineering etching press.

The studio is an open access workshop, where the public can visit to see printmaking in action, or participate in one day courses that teach the etching techniques that I commonly use.

PRINTMAKING WORKSHOPS
usually scheduled during April and October are temporarily suspended, however visit the workshops page to find out more information and then contact me to find out about availability.

The studio will occasionally be closed over lunchtime or at other times during the day, whilst I attend to etching and other studio activites that do not lend themselves to public access, or due to commitments elsewhere.

If you are planning a specific visit, please contact me beforehand to avoid disappointment.

Visitors are welcome to come and see a wide range of my work on display, for sale. But please note that I do not sell my prints from my studio at prices that undercut the established gallery retail values for my work. Also, if initial interest in a print is the result of gallery exposure, the gallery in question will remain involved with any sale that may result.
